Motorcyclist killed in collision with car in La Neuveville BE

A motorcyclist died on Wednesday afternoon in La Neuveville BE. He collided head-on with a car. The car driver was seriously injured, as reported by the Bern cantonal police on Thursday.
It is unclear why the motorcyclist crossed into the oncoming lane on the Route de Prêles between La Neuveville and Prêles. The police are looking for witnesses - in particular the man who immediately provided first aid to the accident victim.
The driver of the car was trapped in the vehicle. The fire department freed her from her predicament and Rega took her to hospital.
