71-year-old falls to his death while hiking in Ticino

On Monday morning, a 71-year-old man fell about a hundred meters into the depths while hiking in Lodrino TI and died. The Italian was hiking with a friend. According to the cantonal police, the rescue services and a Rega team were only able to determine his death.
The accident occurred in the Lodrino Valley at an altitude of around 1700 meters above sea level. It was initially unclear why the man fell.
