Selensky: Kursk offensive is part of a plan for victory

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyi wants to present US President Joe Biden with a plan for his country's victory in the fight against the Russian war of aggression in September. The current Ukrainian offensive in the Russian region of Kursk is part of this victory plan, Selensky explained at an event in Kiev, according to media reports.
He described the advance into Russian territory as a success. The offensive was linked to a second peace summit that Ukraine wants to hold soon after the first one in Switzerland in June.
According to Zelensky, the plan covers various areas. For example, it is about Ukraine's strategic place in the world's security infrastructure, said Selensky. He did not give any details of the plan. However, he had repeatedly stated that he wanted to make the country one of the largest arms producers in the world.
Ukraine also sees itself as the defender of a free Europe in its fight against the Russian invasion that has been going on for more than two years.
With a view to the upcoming US election in November, Zelenskyi also wants to present his plan for victory to presidential candidates Kamala Harris and Donald Trump. The USA is Ukraine's most important international supporter.
