14,224 public charging stations for e-cars

There are currently 14,224 public charging stations for electric cars in Switzerland. Most of them are located in the cantons of Zurich (1958 charging stations), Bern (1301) and Vaud (1218).
The number of public stations has risen sharply in recent years, as the latest figures from the Swiss Federal Office of Energy show. The number of stations in Switzerland has more than doubled since the end of 2022.
But not all charging stations are equally fast. Around half have a maximum charging capacity of between 21 and 42 kilowatts. These stations have been expanded at an above-average rate in recent years. Only seven percent of public charging stations can charge an electric car with a maximum output of over 100 kilowatts.
