Man sets himself on fire in Hägendorf SO and injures himself seriously

A man set himself on fire in Hägendorf SO on Wednesday afternoon and sustained serious injuries. He was flown to hospital by helicopter, according to the Solothurn cantonal police. The circumstances are still unclear.
Shortly after 12.30 p.m., the police received a report that a man had poured a liquid over himself on Solothurnerstrasse in Hägendorf and then set himself alight. The emergency services provided medical care for the seriously injured man at the scene and flew him to hospital in a rescue helicopter.
Police and the public prosecutor's office are in the process of clarifying the course of events, circumstances and the identity of the man, the cantonal police announced. There are no indications that third parties were involved.
