Climate change is a growing concern for managers of Swiss companies. They are therefore investing more in sustainability than a year ago.

This is the conclusion of a study by the consulting firm Deloitte. More than 2100 members of management were surveyed worldwide. In Switzerland, 77 members of the management of companies with a turnover of over half a billion US dollars took part.

Overall, a large majority (82%) of Swiss company managers expect climate change to have an impact on their company's strategy and business over the next three years. This is significantly more than in the last survey last year, writes the consulting firm.

In particular, the disclosure and reporting obligations in the area of sustainability and greater employee awareness of climate issues were cited as examples.

Over three quarters of the Swiss companies surveyed slightly increased their investments in the area of sustainability last year. Around half of those surveyed in Switzerland also want to adapt their business model to climate change.

Companies feel that they are under pressure to act. Swiss corporate leaders are feeling pressure above all from the board of directors and management (70%), banks (68%) and civil society (66%). Compared to the previous year, the figures here have also risen.

Swiss companies see their investors' expectations as the biggest obstacle to implementing climate protection measures.
