Swiss Post intends to acquire the Zurich-based cyber security company Open Systems AG. The transaction is expected to be completed in the fourth quarter of 2024. It still has to be approved by the relevant competition authority.
Swiss Post announced on Wednesday that the takeover would significantly expand its expertise in the field of digital security. Open Systems specializes in protecting the IT networks of globally active companies and non-governmental organizations (NGOs). The company employs over 260 people and, in addition to Zurich, has other locations in Bern, Düsseldorf and San Francisco, among others.
Swiss Post also announced that all employees would continue to be employed in the event of a positive decision by the competition authorities. The two parties have agreed not to disclose the purchase price.
Swiss Post is pursuing the goal of further expanding its cybersecurity solutions in order to meet the increasing requirements for the protection of sensitive data in the digitalized world. By integrating the technologies and expertise of Open Systems, Swiss Post aims to offer even more secure solutions for corporate and government communications in the future.
