Six-year-old attacked by dog in Territet VD

A six-year-old boy was seriously injured when he was attacked by a dog in Territet VD early on Friday evening. He was taken by ambulance to Lausanne University Hospital and is out of danger, according to the Vaud cantonal police.
The six-year-old was bitten on the face and upper body during the attack. The owner and witnesses tried to restrain the animal. The American Bully breed dog had previously escaped from its owner's garden. The boy's mother and another child were unharmed.
The public prosecutor's office opened an investigation and entrusted the investigation to the dog handlers of the Vaud gendarmerie dog brigade. The dog, which was taken to the cantonal animal shelter, remains impounded, the police announced on Saturday.
