Swissgrid with a successful half-year

Swissgrid has had a successful first half-year. As the national grid operator announced on Wednesday, the company result amounted to CHF 54.6 million - three million more than in the previous year.
According to the press release, total assets amounted to CHF 4 billion and the equity ratio was 34.8%. In the first few months of the year, Swissgrid invested in modernizing the grid infrastructure and ensuring security of supply on the grid side. It spent a total of CHF 147.5 million on this, almost CHF 20 million more than last year.
The secure and stable operation of the transmission grid was challenging, writes Swissgrid. This was partly due to very high exports. The company also expects major challenges in the second half of the year. Various measures have been initiated with industry partners to keep the costs of secure and efficient operation of the Swiss extra-high-voltage grid low.
