A rockfall on the Visp-Zermatt section of the Matterhorn Gotthard Railway (MGB) led to train cancellations on Wednesday. Replacement buses were in operation.

The extent of the rockfall in the Kipferwald near St. Niklaus and the duration of the interruption were initially unknown, as a spokesperson for the Matterhorn Gotthard Railway told the Keystone-SDA news agency. Minor delays are to be expected. Passengers would be transported between Visp and St. Niklaus by replacement buses and Zermatt would still be accessible.
