Losses for FDP and gains for SVP in local elections in Valais

Prior to the results from the cities, the municipal elections in Valais on Sunday already show a decline for the FDP and a rise for the SVP. In contrast, the center, the largest party in the canton, is regaining the ground it lost four years ago.
These results appear to confirm the trend observed in the last federal elections in 2023. The results for the cities should be available shortly and should not upset this distribution of political forces.
The Left, which had hoped to ride the wave of the various votes the party has carried and won recently, is losing several seats and is currently not gaining a single one. The Greens, who had made a leap forward four years ago, seem to be holding on to the number of seats.
