The six exponents of the right-wing extremist group "Junge Tat" do not want to pay the fines imposed on them by the Zurich public prosecutor's office. They announced this in a video on the X platform.
"We will not tolerate this repression," said a member of "Junge Tat" in the video. This restricts freedom of expression. This is likely to be the first court case against representatives of "Junge Tat".
At the end of September, the Zurich public prosecutor's office sentenced six right-wing extremists to fines of between 100 and 180 daily rates. In total, the six right-wing extremists would be fined 70,000 francs.
According to the public prosecutor's office, the members of "Junge Tat" were guilty of racial discrimination, disturbing freedom of religion and worship, breach of the peace and an offense against the Explosives Act.
The Zurich judiciary found them guilty of several offenses committed in various combinations between February 2022 and April 2024. For example, they had attempted to disrupt the Pride Festival service in June 2022. They wanted to carry a white wooden cross on a concrete base into the church.
Entry ban against Martin Sellner
In October 2022, there was also a disruption at a reading session by drag queens for children in Zurich's Tanzhaus. In Winterthur, the right-wing extremists also sneaked onto the roof of the Kesselhaus shopping and cinema center - disguised as tradesmen - and hung up a banner. On it, they advertised extensively for "remigration", i.e. the deportation of foreigners.
On October 19, the Austrian right-wing extremist Martin Sellner wanted to give a speech at a "Junge Tat" event in the canton of Zurich. However, the Federal Office of Police (Fedpol) imposed an entry ban on him.
Sellner announced his intention to take legal action against the entry ban. He will also respond to the entry ban with unspecified "tricks".
