Swiss and the social partners have reached an agreement: The airline will generally increase the wages of ground staff by two percent. For a full-time position, this is at least CHF 100 per month.
This was announced by the parties involved on Tuesday. The new wages will apply from January 2025 for those employees who are subject to the collective labor agreement for ground staff. The social partners of Swiss are SEV-Gata, VPOD and the commercial association.
The two percent is an important step and makes a valuable contribution to securing the purchasing power of employees, they write. The increase not only compensates for the forecast annual inflation, but also for higher health insurance premiums and any rent increases.
Last year, despite record results, Swiss management was not even prepared to compensate for annual inflation following a union petition, SEV-Gata President Philipp Hadorn is quoted as saying in the press release. In contrast, "the negotiating climate this time was solution-oriented and constructive".
