The Swiss Media Publishers Association has a new director. Pia Guggenbühl will take over the management of the industry organization of private Swiss media companies from Stefan Wabel at the beginning of February next year.
"Private, independent media make a key contribution to a diverse Swiss media landscape, but they face major challenges," the designated director was quoted as saying in a press release on Monday.
Guggenbühl is still Head of Public Affairs and Communications at Scienceindustries, the Swiss chemical and pharmaceutical industry association. The 45-year-old is also an FDP local councillor in Küsnacht ZH. She has a Master's degree in Political and Communication Sciences from the University of Zurich.
According to its own information, the Swiss Media Publishers Association (VSM) unites over 100 companies and industry-related associate members that together publish around 300 newspapers and magazines as well as offering various news platforms and electronic media.
