Numerous accidents on snow-covered roads in the canton of Bern

There were numerous accidents on the snow-covered roads in the canton of Bern on Thursday afternoon. In many cases, the damage is likely to have been minor. It was still unclear on Thursday afternoon whether there were any serious accidents.
A total of 14 accidents were recorded in the Bern region between 2 p.m. and 4.30 p.m., a spokesperson for the Bern cantonal police told the Keystone-SDA news agency. There were 12 in the Bernese Oberland, 12 in the Mittelland, Emmental and Oberaargau regions and 9 in the Seeland and Bernese Jura.
In Bern, buses in particular struggled with snow and icy conditions. The Bernmobil transport company had to suspend bus services in the afternoon. There were also traffic restrictions at Bern station due to the condition of the tracks caused by the weather, as Railinfo reported. Delays are to be expected.
