Around 40 traffic accidents after the onset of winter in Thurgau

Around 40 road accidents have occurred in the canton of Thurgau since the onset of winter on Thursday evening. Three people were injured in accidents. There were major traffic obstructions.
Numerous road users lost control of their vehicles on the snow-covered roads, according to the Thurgau cantonal police on Thursday morning. They left the road or collided with other vehicles or objects.
In Hugeslhofen TG on Thursday evening, a 54-year-old driver had to be rescued from his car by the fire department following a collision with another vehicle. According to a police statement, his vehicle was fitted with summer tires. He and another person had to be taken to hospital with minor to moderate injuries.
A 49-year-old female driver was taken to hospital with minor injuries after a collision with a delivery van in Wängi TG on Thursday evening.
Winter services and the Thurgau cantonal police were in constant operation. There were major traffic obstructions.
