The Freiburg Canton Archaeology Office (AAFR) has discovered the remains of a hearth in Delley FR. The AAFR found numerous exceptionally well-preserved and large ceramic fragments from the Late Bronze Age (1100-800 BC). The site was discovered during an excavation for the laying of a sewer, as the AAFR announced on Monday. The moving excavators and the laying of the water pipe threatened the archaeological remains, so a team from the AAFR was dispatched. According to the communiqué, the work of the archaeologists revealed an extensive pit that was used multiple times as a furnace. No archaeological remains were previously known from this zone. The finds were recovered and taken to the AAFR for conservation and examination. The Freiburg Canton Archaeology Office (AAFR) has discovered the remains of a hearth in Delley FR.
