Fire in Lucerne Engulfs Home, Leaving Three Children Unaccounted For
A devastating fire in Lucerne has left the community in shock. Late Sunday night, flames engulfed a residential building in Wiggen LU, resulting in two adults sustaining severe injuries and three children missing.
The fire in Lucerne was reported around 01:20, as confirmed by Yanik Probst, a spokesman for the Lucerne police. Emergency services were met with the sight of a residential building and an adjacent barn ablaze. The severity of the fire left three children, ages six, seven, and nine, unaccounted for. As stated by Beat Duss, president of Escholzmatt-Marbach, the children are siblings.
In the face of danger, the fire department faced a tough decision. Godi Studer, commander of the Escholzmatt-Marbach fire department, emphasized the priority of their safety, preventing a search inside the unstable building.

Amidst the tragedy, authorities revealed the adults’ identities. The seriously injured, aged 36 and 43, are the parents of the missing children, with a third individual, aged 38, suffering minor injuries. All adults have received medical attention, with the two severely injured being airlifted to a hospital.
