The Lake Parade in Geneva, Switzerland, returned after a six-year hiatus this past weekend, with an estimated 150,000 people in attendance. Saturday was dedicated to techno-loving dancers, while Sunday was intended to be a family-friendly event. However, due to the heat, the family brunch and activities for children were not as successful as expected, with the crowd only arriving in the late afternoon when the event was already ending at 8pm. Despite this, the organisers were still pleased with the return of such festivities after the Covid-19 pandemic. Around 80,000-100,000 dancers followed 15 floats with over 150 DJs around the Geneva lake basin in temperatures of 34 degrees. On Saturday night until Sunday morning at 1am, the DJs then heated up the crowd on 13 dance floors and two large stages on the left side of the lake. According to police counts, 39,000 people attended the event called Lake Sensation.
