79-year-old delivery van driver dies in accident

A 79-year-old delivery van driver died in a suspected accident in Leuk VS on Thursday. The police found his vehicle off the road in steep terrain.
Shortly after 4.30 p.m., the operations center received a report of a missing man, the Valais cantonal police announced on Friday. He is said to have been driving his van from Inden in the direction of Varen.
The police launched a search operation and found the vehicle around 5.15 p.m. around 15 meters off the road in steep terrain. The Valais rescue organization, Air Zermatt and the fire department were called out immediately. However, the emergency services were only able to determine that the man had died. The police are looking for witnesses to the accident.
