Actor Emil Steinberger walks the green carpet

Actor and cabaret artist Emil Steinberger walked the green carpet at the Zurich Film Festival on Thursday evening. The big Hollywood glamor was missing, but dozens of fans still wanted to see the Swiss comedy legend.
The 91-year-old appeared on Zurich's Sechseläutenplatz accompanied by his wife Niccel. The Lucerne native took time to sign autographs and pose for photos. Like Richard Gere, who is 16 years younger, Steinberger did not make the older fans scream on Tuesday, but the reception was warm.
The reason for Emil's appearance was the gala screening of the documentary film "Typisch Emil" and the award for his life's work. The ZFF describes him as "probably the most popular comedian in Switzerland".
In addition to his stage programs, Steinberger also made a name for himself with films such as "Die Schweizermacher" and appearances at the Knie Circus.
