Amag takes over the VW and Skoda business from Franz AG

The Amag Group is taking over Franz AG's garage business for Skoda and VW private and commercial vehicles in the greater Zurich area. Franz AG feels compelled to take this step due to the business environment.
The sale to Amag Automobil und Motoren AG will take place on June 1, 2024, as the two companies jointly announced on Wednesday. The deal includes the Franz AG garages at the Wettingen, Wettswil, Zurich Badenerstrasse and Wollishofen sites. From then on, Amag will continue to operate these sites.
The future trends in the automotive market show that sustainable development in the current set-up will be challenging, according to the statement. The automotive industry will continue to change in the Zurich/Limmattal region. Franz AG has therefore examined new options and variants.
Amag Automobil und Motoren AG is part of the Amag Group and operates more than 80 garages in Switzerland and Liechtenstein as the largest Swiss automobile trading company.
