At least one person dies in an accident on the A1 in western Switzerland

At least one person was killed in a head-on collision on the A1 between Estavayer-le-Lac FR and Yverdon-Sud VD on Sunday night. According to the police, the section of road is expected to remain closed until 12.00 noon.
The Vaud cantonal police responsible did not provide any further details about the accident when asked by the Keystone-SDA news agency on Sunday morning.
The Fribourg cantonal police advised travelers heading towards Lausanne to take the A12 and A9 from the Weyermannshaus junction, according to a message on the online platform X, formerly Twitter.
