Bern streetcars must remain in the depot until Saturday

Due to the precarious snow conditions, almost all Bern streetcars have to remain in the depot until Saturday. Only between Worb and Bern Bahnhof were streetcars on line 6 able to run again on Friday.
The other lines should have resumed operations at 5 pm. Nothing came of it. Due to large amounts of ice and snow on the tracks, operations were suspended until the end of the day, Rolf Meyer from the Bernmobil transport company told the Keystone-SDA news agency.
Replacement buses were organized. However, waiting times were to be expected.
The bus network slowly picked up speed again on Friday morning. By early afternoon, all bus routes were back in operation.
