Beznau 2 Reactor Gradually Resumes Operation After Refurbishment

The Swiss nuclear safety authority Ensi has given the green light for the restart of Block 2 of the Beznau nuclear power plant in the canton of Aargau. The energy company Axpo announced on Wednesday that the power plant will initially resume operations with the first turbine group. The second turbine group will follow in the next few days due to delays in the delivery of replacement parts. As part of the revision, 20 of the 121 fuel elements were replaced.
