Brian Keller, "Switzerland's best-known prisoner", is currently being held in a prison in Baden-Württemberg D. The Federal Office of Justice has formally requested his extradition to Switzerland, according to a statement issued on Tuesday.
Keller was arrested in Germany on August 10. The latest arrest was triggered by threats on social media. The Zurich public prosecutor's office had asked the 28-year-old to hand himself in voluntarily by August 6. However, he ignored this request, which is why the Zurich city and cantonal police launched a manhunt for him.
Brian Keller had only been released from custody in Zurich around four weeks ago. He was there after threatening his opponent "Skorp808" on social media and later beating him up in front of a house entrance.
A surveillance camera filmed Keller appearing out of nowhere and knocking "Skorp808" to the ground. The TikTok influencer, with whom Keller has been feuding on social media for some time, suffered a fractured cheekbone.
Two pending proceedings
Two cases against Keller are currently still pending before the High Court. The Zurich public prosecutor's office is also investigating his feud with "Skorp808".
Keller became nationally known as "juvenile offender Carlos" in 2013 thanks to an SRF documentary. The Swiss man was released on November 10, 2023 - accompanied by the media and the public - after spending years in various prisons.
At the age of 28, he could finally live his own life, he said at the time, surrounded by cameramen. He wanted to become a professional boxer and simply be a decent citizen.
