Isabelle Jacobi is leaving her post as editor-in-chief of the Bern daily newspaper "Der Bund". The journalist will take over the USA dossier in the foreign editorial department of the "Neue Zürcher Zeitung" from April 2024.
Jacobi had been editor-in-chief of the Bund and a member of the editorial board of "Berner Zeitung" and "Der Bund" since summer 2022. She has left a strong mark on the Bernese media landscape and has made a significant contribution to the independence of the Bernese title and strengthened its profile, the media company Tamedia announced on Monday.
"My departure has nothing to do with the Bern editorial team, but is a personal professional decision," Jacobi is quoted as saying in the press release. Before her time at the "Bund", the journalist worked as a correspondent for SRF radio in Washington.
According to Tamedia, the tried and tested model of the joint editorial offices of "Berner Zeitung" and "Bund" is to be retained. The position of "Bund" editor-in-chief will be newly filled.
