Chur commemorates the Graubünden alien creator with the HR Giger Year 2024

The city of Chur and the Bündner Kunstmuseum are honoring the Alien creator with the HR Giger Year 2024 to mark the tenth anniversary of his death. Exhibitions, city tours and events are planned.
The events in the Grisons capital will begin on May 3 with a book launch at the Bündner Kunstmuseum. The work "HR Giger - The Early Years" will be presented there. It shows photographs by HR Giger that first came to light in 2016. They document his life from birth to adulthood, when he moved from Chur to Zurich.
Three exhibitions will also be held in Chur to commemorate the city's famous creative son. From May 16 to August 11, the City Gallery in Chur Town Hall will be showing "HR Giger and the City of Chur", featuring original works from the collections of the Bündner Kunstmuseum and the City of Chur.
The 12 signs of the zodiac created by the artist can also be seen in the Stadtgalerie under the exhibition title "Zodiak". Components of the Zodiac Fountain designed by Giger will be on display from September 12 to 29.
The Giger Year will conclude with an exhibition at the Bündner Kunstmuseum featuring photos from HR Giger's youth and artifacts from his childhood. They will be on display from September 13 to November 24.
