Blick" writes online about the negotiations with the EU:
"Before the outcome of the negotiations was even on the table, the agreement was being talked about and picked apart. The Federal Council stubbornly maintained its non-communication. A grotesque behavior in a time of permanent broadcasting, in which every gap is mercilessly filled. Now the moment of truth has arrived: no more "low level"! Does the Federal Council want to explain why it believes an agreement is needed? Do Cassis and co. want to turn the debate around? If so, the Federal Council needs a strategy on how it intends to convince Parliament and the people of the EU deal. Above all, however, it must honestly show what commitments Switzerland is making. What the country will gain - and what it will lose. Or have the skeptics long been in charge in the Federal Council? Does the majority secretly no longer believe in the success of a new agreement? Even then, honesty would be called for. Otherwise the endless consultations after the endless negotiations will become an exercise in tokenism."
