On Monday, the Meilen District Court sentenced a former commander of the Swiss Guard to a conditional prison sentence of ten months. The 51-year-old had threatened a man with a chainsaw.

The court sentenced the former security specialist for threats, false accusations and disobedience to official orders. In addition to the conditional prison sentence, the Swiss national was fined CHF 1,000.

The court also ordered him to undergo therapy. In November 2022, the former Swiss Guard commander and former head of the Glarus criminal investigation department set off a chainsaw in a garden on Lake Zurich and used it to threaten his former partner's ex-boyfriend.
