On Wednesday morning in Illnau-Effretikon ZH, the police pulled a driver with a "fabulous" 2.40 per mille alcohol in his blood off the road. The Polish driver was banned from driving anywhere in Switzerland.

The intoxicated driver attracted the attention of a police patrol due to his unsafe driving, according to the Illnau-Effretikon municipal police. He only stopped when they used their blue lights and horn in addition to the visual stop request.

In addition to the driving ban that applies throughout Switzerland and a "correspondingly high" fine, the driver is facing further trouble: he was working in Switzerland without the appropriate papers, according to the police. He also had a permanent residence in Switzerland.
