The Government of Graubünden has allocated 3.2 million Swiss francs to the Interreg VI A cooperation programme. This project will promote collaboration between Italy and Switzerland over a seven-year period. In addition to the Swiss Confederation, the cantons of Graubünden, Ticino and Valais are involved.
This project focuses on innovation and technology transfer, adaptation to climate change and resilience, sustainable and cross-border mobility, tourism and valorization of nature and culture, as the Grisons government announced on Thursday in a statement.
The Interreg programmes come from the European Union. It aims to promote cross-border cooperation between its Member States and third countries. Switzerland participates in the programmes as part of its New Regional Policy (NRP).
