Herzog and Nussbaumer receive Selenskyj in the Federal Palace

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky was received in the Federal Palace by the President of the Council of States Eva Herzog (SP/BS) and the President of the National Council Eric Nussbaumer (SP/BL). Nussbaumer and Herzog reaffirmed Switzerland's solidarity with Ukraine.
Herzog and Nussbaumer also informed the Ukrainian President about ongoing work in the Swiss parliament, the parliamentary services also reported. According to the communiqué, the President of the Council explained the importance of long-term support for Ukraine and its reconstruction.
The two Swiss politicians also emphasized their shared values as well as Switzerland's continued support and strong ties with the Ukrainians. Herzog and Nussbaumer also renewed an invitation to the President of the Ukrainian Parliament, Ruslan Stefanchuk, to visit Switzerland.
On the fringes of the meeting in the parliament building, President Selensky also exchanged views with the presidents of the parliamentary groups and parties. The SVP was not represented at the meetings, as a reporter from the Keystone-SDA news agency observed.
In the late afternoon, Selenskyj was received by President Viola Amherd, Foreign Minister Ignazio Cassis and Justice Minister Beat Jans at the Lohn country estate near Kehrsatz.
