Huge disappointment in Geneva after ESC decision

The SRG's decision to choose Basel as the venue for the Eurovision Song Contest (ESC) 2025 has caused great disappointment in the canton and city of Geneva. The partners of the Geneva bid took note of the choice and congratulated Basel.
"Although the final decision did not go the way we had hoped, Geneva has demonstrated its ability to come together in record time and put forward a solid bid for the organization of the Eurovision Song Contest," the canton and the city emphasized in a joint statement on Friday. The authorities, Palexpo, Geneva Tourism and numerous representatives of the political and economic world were behind the bid.
