Human bones discovered after farmhouse fire in Bottens VD

Human bones have been discovered in the building following the fire at a farmhouse last Thursday night. Analyses will now show whether they are those of the man who is still missing.
The bones were discovered in the ruins of the fire, the Vaud cantonal police announced on Sunday. They were the human remains of a male person. Further analyses will show whether this is the missing person.
The fire broke out in the early hours of last Thursday morning and could only be extinguished during the course of the day. Around 380 animals perished, mainly cattle and calves. They either died in the flames or had to be killed afterwards. The cause of the fire remained unknown for the time being.
