On Saturday afternoon, hundreds of thousands of people gathered around Zurich's Seebecken at the 30th Street Parade, the world's largest Technoparty. The event started at 2 pm, and the rain stopped just in time, allowing the sun to come out. Participants of all ages danced along the two kilometer route from Utoquai to Hafendamm Enge, with loud bass, sometimes outrageous or very skimpy outfits, and a cheerful atmosphere. The event, which was started by young Technofans in 1992, has become a popular festival. Hours before the start of the party, people had already taken over the city, with trains and buses bringing in the revellers. Until 5 pm, there were no incidents reported, and the police had a large presence. The route was closed off for traffic, and public transport in Zurich was heavily restricted. The event officially ends at midnight, after which people will continue to dance in Zurich's clubs.nnnnnnnn
