Hungarian President: “Russia cannot win”

Hungarian President Katalin Novák has condemned Russia's war of aggression in Ukraine and assured Kiev of her country's support. "Russia cannot win," declared Novák on Wednesday at the World Economic Forum (WEF) in Davos GR, according to the Hungarian news agency MTI.
It had to be made clear which side was the aggressor and which had been attacked. War and aggression could never be a solution, Novák emphasized. She had always made it clear that Russian aggression was to be condemned. Hungary had also joined the peace plan presented by Ukraine.
Since Russia's attack on Ukraine in 2022, the Hungarian leadership has repeatedly demonstrated its closeness to Russia, unlike other EU states, and recently blocked additional financial aid from the EU for Ukraine.
