Jositsch (SP) Likely to Secure Re-Election to Zurich Council of States

Daniel Jositsch (SP) has been re-elected to the Zurich Council of States with 224,000 votes according to the second projection at 12.55. Gregor Rutz (SVP) is in second place with 160,000 votes, but he has not achieved the absolute majority of 210,000 votes required for election. This means a second round of voting will take place on 19 November. Regine Sauter (FDP) is in third place with 117,000 votes, followed by Tiana Moser (GLP) with 112,000 votes. Daniel Leupi (Green) is in fifth place with 81,000 votes, ahead of Philipp Kutter (Middle) with 63,000 votes and Nik Gugger (EVP) with 34,000 votes. Various other candidates have not achieved enough votes to be elected. The second round of voting for the Council of States will take place on 19 November.
