Lidl Switzerland employees are receiving higher wages. The discounter is also raising the minimum wage. This means that Lidl Switzerland now offers the highest minimum wage in the industry secured by a collective labor agreement (CLA).

The general increase in the wage bill amounts to 1.8 percent, as Lidl announced on Thursday. This is intended to counteract declining purchasing power due to inflation. An additional 0.6 percent will be used for structural increases at an individual level.

Overall, the payroll will be increased by 2.4 percent as of March 1, 2024. Employees will also receive a shopping voucher. Lidl Switzerland is thus investing a total of 3.2 percent in the wage round.

In concrete terms, this means that unskilled employees will now receive CHF 4550 (previously CHF 4500) per month. People with two years' training will now receive CHF 4600 (4550) and those with three years' training CHF 4650 (4600).

This means that Lidl Switzerland offers the highest CLA-guaranteed minimum wages in the industry, the statement continues. The minimum wages for apprentices and interns are also included in the collective labor agreement. The monthly wage is paid 13 times a year and is based on a 100 percent workload.

In addition, the salary is fully insured under the BVG, regardless of the workload. Lidl Switzerland completely waives the usual coordination deduction, which benefits part-time employees in particular. In addition, the Lidl CLA guarantees a working week of 41 hours and 18 weeks' maternity leave with 100 percent continued pay or 4 weeks' paternity leave, also with 100 percent continued pay.
