In the trial for the homicide in Emmenbrücke in June 2020, the public prosecutor has pleaded against an act of affray. The perpetrator had stolen money from the victim's bank accounts several times in the run-up to the crime and had also expressed his desire to kill his wife in text messages.

He could only look his wife in the face when she was dead, he had written to his lover on the morning of the crime. This is what the public prosecutor told the judges of the Lucerne criminal court on Tuesday. After the crime, he finally wrote to her that he had now slaughtered his wife. This corresponds to great cold-bloodedness.

The accused did not let go of the victim after he had already stabbed him several times with the knife. When the victim's circulation was already almost non-existent, he stabbed him eight more times in the chest. According to the public prosecutor, this particularly reprehensible form of killing constituted murder.

There was no apparent motive why she should have provoked her husband on the day of the crime, as the defendant claimed. She had packed her belongings during his stay in Serbia and rented a new apartment. She was ready to start a new life. The defendant could not have accepted this.

Money set aside

Furthermore, he did not want to accept that the assets accumulated during the marriage would be divided up in the event of a divorce. He therefore withdrew around 60,000 francs from her accounts without her consent and set them aside. He withdrew CHF 432,000 from his own account and hid it in order to reduce his wife's matrimonial property claims.

The public prosecutor demanded a life sentence and an expulsion from the country for 15 years with an alert in the Schengen Information System. The lawyer for the private plaintiffs - the couple's three children - requested damages of around CHF 173,000, compensation of CHF 29,500 and satisfaction of CHF 75,000 per child.
