Matterhorn Gotthard Railway suspends operations due to strong winds

The Matterhorn Gotthard Railway suspended operations between Andermatt UR and Disentis GR on Saturday until the end of service due to strong winds. No replacement transportation was possible, the railroad company announced on X.
In the morning, the route between Andermatt and Tschamut-Selva GR (Surselva region) was also interrupted due to strong winds.
The Matterhorn Gotthard Railway's 144-kilometre rail network extends across the cantons of Valais, Uri and Graubünden. The railroad company also operates the Glacier Express together with the Rhaetian Railway (RhB).
