Migros has agreed a social plan with the social partners. This came into force on May 1, 2024.
It is the first standardized social plan and brings a significant improvement for all affected employees compared to the previous social plans of the individual cooperatives and Migros companies, the Federation of Cooperatives announced on Wednesday.
Migros is thus fulfilling its social responsibility as an employer with regard to the planned sales of individual companies. The social partners are the LAKO National Commission, the Swiss Butchers' Staff Association and the Swiss Commercial Association.
Migros announced the sale of various subsidiaries at the beginning of February. Around 1500 jobs are to be cut as part of a reorganization.
