Military police RS in Valais starts late due to flooding

Basic military training begins in Switzerland on Monday for around 8,200 recruits. However, the military police recruit school in Sion is not expected to start until Wednesday due to the flooding situation.
This was announced by the Department of Defense on Monday. The canton and also Ticino were hit by severe storms at the weekend. The damage caused by flooding as well as landslides and debris flows is enormous.
In Valais, important traffic routes are still interrupted due to the flood damage, including the A9 highway and the Lausanne-Brig railroad line between Leuk and Gampel-Steg.
