Monika Bütler Receives Freedom Award from the Bonny Foundation

Monika Bütler, a Swiss economist and professor, has been awarded the 100,000 Swiss Francs Bonny Foundation Freedom Prize. Bütler is an Honorary Professor at the University of St. Gallen and is recognised for her "unprecedented sustainability" as an economist. The Bonny Foundation awarded the 62-year-old the prize for her pragmatic approach to finding solutions to ensure the sustainability of the pension system, the market-oriented climate policy and the targeted social policy. The Bonny Foundation awards an individual or organisation each year for their contribution to the preservation of freedom. Previous recipients of the prize include former Swiss Federal Councillor Kaspar Villiger and the President of the Locarno Film Festival, Marco Solari. The Bonny Foundation supports projects that promote a liberal social order and a free market economy.nnnnnnnnnn
