National Council committee wants to extend Hamas ban to include Hezbollah

Like its sister committee in the Council of States, the National Council's Security Policy Committee (SiK-N) would like to ban not only Hamas but also Hezbollah in Switzerland.
The SiK-N voted 20 to 2 with two abstentions to approve the draft federal law banning the Islamist Palestinian organization Hamas and related organizations, as it announced on Tuesday.
The majority of the committee also wants to ban Hezbollah. It approved a motion to this effect by 19 votes to 3 with two abstentions.
The Hamas ban will now be discussed by both the National Council and the Council of States in the winter session.
