Over 250 operations and evacuations in Freiburg due to storms

The police, fire department and cantonal maintenance services were called out to over 250 storm-related incidents in the canton of Fribourg on Tuesday. Some houses had to be evacuated for safety reasons. No one was injured.
Most of the interventions were due to flooded cellars, as the Fribourg cantonal police wrote in a communiqué on Tuesday evening. There was also a landslide in Rue FR, which damaged several parked cars.
Numerous sections of road had to be closed. The cantonal road between Charmey and Im Fang remained closed indefinitely because the Jaunbach had overflowed the roadway. The nearby residential buildings had to be evacuated and the residents accommodated in infrastructure provided by the authorities.
