Over half a meter of snow in the mountains in some places

Over 50 centimetres of snow have fallen in the mountains in the past 24 hours. This was mainly in the eastern Alps and in Graubünden.
In Klosters and Bergün GR, for example, there was 70 centimetres of fresh snow according to SRF Meteo, and 65 centimetres in Arosa GR.
But there was also a lot of snow in the lowlands. According to the private weather service Meteonews, for example, there was 48 centimetres in Elm GL, 30 centimetres in St. Gallen and 26 centimetres in Zurich-Zürichberg.
According to Meteonews, the snow depth in the central and eastern midlands was between 5 and 15 centimetres on Saturday morning. Towards the Alps and east, especially at higher altitudes, there was considerably more in some places.
On Lake Geneva, on the other hand, it only rained or there was sleet. In the south, too, it remained raining at lower altitudes.
