The proceedings surrounding the bomb threat to the federal asylum center on Glaubenberg OW have been dropped. The Obwalden public prosecutor's office announced on Thursday that the investigation had been unsuccessful.
No perpetrators could be identified during the investigation, the press release continues. The criminal proceedings will therefore be discontinued.
At the end of February, a bomb threat was received at the federal asylum center on Glaubenberg. The Obwalden cantonal police and the State Secretariat for Migration (SEM) then ordered the evacuation of the asylum accommodation. The asylum seekers had to be accommodated in other temporary asylum accommodation in Central Switzerland.
There are 340 places available at the Glaubenberg Federal Asylum Center. Before the summer vacations, the Obwalden government and the municipal council of Sarnen announced that they would extend the use of the former Glaubenberg military camp until June 2028.
