Following the storms in Valais, rail traffic between Riddes and Ardon in Valais can be resumed. The SBB announced on Saturday morning that the water level of the Rhone had dropped.
The railroad line between Lausanne VD and Brig VS had to be interrupted on Friday evening due to the risk of flooding in the Lower Valais, as the SBB announced in the evening. The level of the Rhone below the railroad bridge at Riddes had reached a critical height.
As a result, rail services between Riddes and Ardon were suspended at 10.20 p.m. as a precautionary measure for safety reasons. As a result, Interregio trains between Martigny and Sion and regional trains between Riddes and Ardon were canceled. Rail replacement buses were in operation.
