The rail strike in Germany is also affecting cross-border connections with Switzerland. SBB therefore advises against traveling to Germany from Thursday to Friday evening. Travelers' tickets remain valid.

Affected trains will only run within Switzerland and will be canceled from or to the border, said Reto Schärli, head of the SBB media office, at the request of Keystone-SDA. The effects in detail are still unclear, which is why it cannot yet be guaranteed that all connections within Switzerland will be replaced.

SBB recommends that all passengers postpone their journey to Germany to another time. Anyone wishing to postpone their journey due to the strike can use their ticket at a later date. It is also possible to bring forward journeys and travel earlier on Thursday to ensure that you arrive at your destination in the early evening.

From Thursday to Friday evening, there will be a 24-hour strike by the German Train Drivers' Union. This will result in delays and train cancellations on Deutsche Bahn's long-distance, regional and S-Bahn services. The first restrictions can be expected even before the official start of the strike at 10 pm.
